It’s the month of giving thanks and I’d like to say we are so very thankful to all the students that have come to Crossroads to start or continue their performance education! We’ve offered 6 multi-week classes and four have completely sold out! Building on that success we are offering a new round of classes for winter 2022 that include new and returning instructors and new and returning classes!

Teaching for the first time with us will be Tanya Morgan (Not Yet Rated) and Carolyn Beatty (The Decoy) who are teaching Improv Basics and Intro to Sketch Writing respectively. Rob O’Neill (Not Yet Rated and Study Hall) will be teaching an in person version of our Improv Inspired By class. This class is the perfect encapsulation of the method of improv that Crossroads is focusing on. Improv Inspired By features not just a class performance, but one that is voted on by the class and directed by its instructor.

There may be more classes and / or one day workshops added as the months go by, but these are our main offerings for the start of 2022. Begin the new year learning a new skill or brushing up on an old one while meeting new people and remembering what it’s like to interact with real humans again.

MORE WITH KRISTEN SCHIER (ONE DAY WORKSHOP)

If we only explore and play in our comfort zone, we’ll never know what we’re truly capable of. In this workshop, improvisers will be asked to push their level of emotional and physical commitment past their usual zone of performance, making sure no choice is casual and letting no offer remain mundane. Through various exercises and scene work, improvisers will not only be asked to give MORE, but to think about where to put their energy to best yield powerful results.

DAY / DATE: Saturday, December 18th, 2021
TIME: 11:00am – 2:00pm
LOCATION: Theatre Exile @ 1340 S. 13th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19147

IMPROV INSPIRED BY WITH ROB O'NEILL

This 6 week course will prepare students for improvising from any source material.
