Big news! The Class Clowns Comedy Festival is coming back to Philly Theatre Week in april! The mission of the Class Clowns Comedy Festival is to entertain and education our audience through a variety of comedy shows. We want our audience to laugh, think, and feel, but we also want them to leave the show they saw a little bit smarter.

This year, the Class Clowns Comedy Festival will take place at Theatre Exile in South Philly. Our line-up of shows features some returning favorites, out of town guests, special events, local legends, and new shows created specifically for this festival.

Returning will be our own Study Hall: Comedy Inspired By Lectures and Extree Extree: Comedy Inspired By the News, Electoral Dysfunction (NYC), and a pay what you want edition of Book Club: An Interactive Book Loving Experience. We are also bringing back, Extra Credit: Educational Comedy for the Short Attention Span. This will be a variety of performances that have some sort of educational component. Set to perform already is Thank You, Places: An Improvised Musical which will be improvising songs inspired by the lessons they learn in the show, Fastball Pitcher Bob Gutierrez with an original song, and more TBA. If you’d like to be considered for this show you can read about submissions here.

Making their Class Clowns debut are Betty Smithsonian and Ralph Andracchio in Porn Stash, the 2023 Best of Philly Winner for Best Comedy Night from Philly Mag! We will also see the Philly premiere Political SOS: A Scientific Antidote for the End of Days from professor / scientist / circus performer / Stand-up Comedian, Andrea Jones-Rooy (NYC). Andrea will combine all those things to help us all get to the (scientific and research-based!) bottom of why our politics feel so bad!

There are a couple special events happening around the same time as our festival and we wanted them reflected in our line-up. The total solar eclipse will be on April 8th, but on April 5th you can see Laugh of Totality: A Roast of the Solar Eclipse. This traveling show will be making a special stop in Philly for our festival and features local and national comedians and scientists joking about the science, history, and culture of eclipses. Also happening this weekend is none other than WrestleMania in Philly! Representing this special event will be WrestleBrainia: A Pro-Wrestling Trivia show, which will test audience and contestants knowledge of the squared circle for fun and prizes.

Whether you want to laugh, learn, or both – we got your covered! Click the event below to get your tickets now. You can also choose to get a Festival Pass! You can see all the shows for one low price.

We hope to see you soon!
