“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal and are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights. That among these rights are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Does that look familiar? It should. It’s one of the first things we learn in school about American History. Sadly though, for some in this country, even though it is one of the first things learned it is one of the first things forgotten. This is a founding principle of our country. It is this belief that pushed the original settlers to set sail for this land. It was in one of the first documents we drafted as a nation. We sent it over to King George III and were like “Hey, this is what we believe.” So it must be important right? Barack Obama believes it is and has moved things forward to really achieve this. On the other hand, Mitt Romney has more or less said he does not believe this and will do what he can to see that people are treated according to his beliefs and how he would gain financially.

The concept that we are all equal is the true American dream and that we all have a fair shot at life, liberty and happiness. Women, minorities, gays, lower income and even middle class stand to lose if Mitt Romney is elected. Barack Obama ran on a platform of change in 2008 and has done more in 4 years to create change in areas of equality than any most any president.

You’ve all seen the ridiculous comments made about women and the environment by him and this supporters. If he’s bringing the foreign policies of the 1980’s, social policies of the 1950’s and financial policies of the 1920’s then he and his party are bringing the scientific policies of the dark ages.

Do the right thing. Do the human thing. Vote Obama. Vote equality. Keep moving us forward. If you disagree with this please don’t bother commenting. Use your own wall for that.
