The folks over at Geekadelphia were nice enough to give Study Hall some attention. This was an amazingly fun show to be apart of when Asteroid! did it and its latest incarnation it continues to be. You need to check this show you. You will learn. You will laugh. That simple.
Take your typical hum-drum college lecture about any subject you can think of and then add in some over-the-top improv sketch comedy done by some of Philadelphia’s best and you have an inkling of what Study Hall is all about.
On the fourth Saturday of each month Drexel University’s Professor Michael Yudell along with assorted guests pick a topic and deliver a lecture about it to the audience. Then, some of the best improvisers in the area take that lecture and transform it into one of the funniest comedy shows you will ever see.
This month Study Hall will take place on July 26 at 7:30PM at the Philly Improv Theater (2030 Sansom Street) and will include UPenn professor David Barnes as a guest speaker. Admission is $10 online and $12 at the door and it is one of the best nights you’ll have where you can both learn and laugh at the same time.
An evening of fun and frivolity, Study Hall is not to be missed.
