Though Study Hall has been around officially since 2013, we’ve never had a proper logo designed. We’ve had posters and photos, but never a logo. Never something that, in one image, captures who we are, what we do, and what we are about. Well thanks to the fantastic Karen Coleman-Hinners, we now have one!
This new logo has all of those things. Who are we? Study Hall. What do we do? Comedy inspired by lectures. What are we about? Eruditio per Risum of course! For those that didn’t study latin, that translates roughly to “learning through laughter.” We aim to educate our audiences by entertaining them. As our head lecturer and pandemic guide, Michael Yudell has said, our show “brings in different historical expertise and knowledge. And it’s a unique outlet for sharing history with an audience that doesn’t necessarily pay attention to history.”
Now that our logo is complete, you can expect to see some merch items in our School Store soon! We will be launching a fundraiser on Monday, July 13th to help support our 2020 Philly Fringe Festival run. We will have various items for sale including a Study Hall face mask! You didn’t think we would have a public health expert in this show and not have face masks offered did you? Check back Monday afternoon for links to purchase.
