The first live comedy shows produced by Crossroads Comedy Theater are coming! Mark your calendars for June 11th – 13th for a weekend of comedy shows old and new. This is the first weekend of several lined up through the summer months. It’s time to shake off the dust and get back to what we love doing – making people laugh.

Not Yet rated: An Improvised Movie and Study Hall: Comedy Inspired By Lectures will shake off the dust and get back on the stage for the first time since February 2020. Both shows have kept busy during the pandemic having performed over three dozen online shows between the two.

Extree! Extree! Comedy Inspired By News will make its IRL debut after two very fun shows as part of the 2021 Philly Theatre Week. Making its full-on debut is Borrowed Time: Indie Improv Showcase. This show will give some stage time to chosen improv acts not directly affiliated with Crossroads. First up will be Daddy Issues and long running improv team, Hoffman!

No stranger to Philly comedy, but new to Crossroads is No Diggity: Improv Inspired By Old School Hip Hop and R&B. Host Tia Kemp (Study Hall, In My Opinion: The Good Fight Podcast) curates a playlist of old school jams and music videos which serve as the inspiration for the talented cast. Break out your jumpers and gold chains and come watch this fun improv show.

We are a comedy theater, but we take the health and safety of our performers and audience seriously. For that reason we will be following the Covid guidelines supplied by the CDC and the City of Philadelphia (and our own in house public health expert from Study Hall, Michael Yudell). At this time we expect that:

  • All performers will be fully vaccinated and will perform unmasked over 10ft from the closest audience members.
  • Audience members will be required to wear a mask regardless of vax status.
  • Seating will be limited to 50% of capacity with chairs distanced.

We will be keeping an eye on the guidelines as they are eased, but will always be on the side of an abundance of caution. We appreciate your cooperation with our implementation of these guidelines to keep everyone safe and healthy.

We are so very excited to put on our very first shows as a theater and be back on stage as performers for the first time in over a year. We are even more excited to have you join us for our live show debut weekend! While you have your calendar out, put some circles around July 16th – 18th and August 13th to 15th. That’s when our live shows will return to Philly and we’re already planning some great stuff!
