We’re less than a week removed from our first live shows as a theater company, but we’re already looking forward to next month’s run! Last month things escalated very quickly. I started planning one send-off show for Michael Yudell of Study Hall and that rapidly grew to a full weekend of programming. July allowed for a bit more breathing room to plan and I’m so excited for what’s in store.

We’ve got the recurring shows – Not Yet Rated, Extree Extree, and Study Hall featuring lecturers from the host of Check Please!, Kae Lani Palmisano and an official with All Elite Wrestling, Bryce Remsburg! With one more guest TBA. In addition to those awesome shows we are also welcoming several guest performances including Interrogation Room for the first time and Hoffman returning after a super fun show last month. We’re also hosting Thank You Places: An Improvised Musical and The N Crowd in their first live shows since March 2020!

I’m also thrilled to have partnered with Curt Riedy (Philly Sketch Fest) for a block of sketch all-stars doing what they haven’t been able to do for over a year now. Acts include Crying Alone In the Shower, High Dramma,  The Incredible Shrinking Matt & Jacquie, The Mean Wendy Band, Steve Swan vs Joe Moore, and maybe more!

Also worth noting that Sundays in July are Free and Pay What You Can! Come for the night and see some great shows without breaking the bank. We’ll also have some drinks and light snacks in the lobby for this month’s run! You can come to the first show of the night and stay for the last show without getting parched or hangry. We’ll also have some more Crossroads merch for sale, though there’s not much left after our first weekend.

Whether you are into long form improv, short form improv, musical improv, sketch, stand-up or just want to get out of the house and see real humans for a bit, we got your back. Hope to see you around the theater!

NOT YET RATED: AN IMPROVISED MOVIE

In a world filled with movies… this one has not been made. Just in time for the summer blockbuster season, Not Yet Rated tackles the action genre in a movie you definitely won’t see in the theater. Using movie tropes and your suggestions the cast will embark on a mission some of them may not survive- to create a completely improvised movie right before your eyes. The heroes and villains, the chase scenes and explosions, the twists and turns, even the soundtrack- all made up on the spot! No Script. No Props. No Idea What’s Gonna Happen!. This film is Not Yet Rated.

THE INTERROGATION ROOM

Crossroads Comedy Theater is excited to welcome a guest performance by The Interrogation Room! The Interrogation Room is a fast-paced improv show where the hosts (Rob Alesiani and Joe Tuzzi) ask the audience to tell a TRUE story about a time they got away with something! Some of Philly’s best improvisers will then create a comedy show inspired by those stories right in front of you. We know you did it, so just admit it!
