Our final run of 2023 is here! It’s been a great year and we’re looking to close things out in a big way. In addition to some of our regular shows like Study Hall and Not Yet Rated getting special holiday themed shows, we’re welcoming guests like Thank, You Places: An Improvised Musical and more. We also have performances from two of the longest running improv teams in Philly both reuniting for one night only – Big Baby & the Future!
Also making a return is Winter Wonderjawn, our 2nd Annual holiday variety show. In addition to some performers from last year making an appearance like Samantha Russell’s Aunt Nancy, we welcome several new acts including Kristen Schier (clowning), The Mean Wendy Band (music), Hot Damn! WINTER CLASSES NOW ENROLLING
Start your new year investing in yourself! We have have classes enrolling in various types of improv. Dramatic improv, musical improv, form focused classes, and more.
We also have our Improv 1 and 2 classes enrolling. We have gotten asked why we do 6 weeks and not 8 weeks for classes. The short answer is because it’s cheaper for students and less of an overall commitment. We cut the fat out of our curriculum while still providing a thorough lesson plan executed by the best instructors in the city to create the best improvisers.

THE NITTY GRITTY: A PHILLY STORYTELLING HOLIDAY HAPPY HOUR
It’s a special holiday edition of the sold out Fringe Festival show celebrating all things Philly! Come hear some of the city’s best storytellers regale you with their favorite stories about life in Philly. We can’t promise you’ll hear about Wawa, dirt bikes, cheesesteaks, the ackamee, or any other holiday jawn… but we can’t rule it out either. Hosted by Geoff Jackson. THANK YOU, PLACES: AN IMPROVISED HOLIDAY MUSICAL
Musical theater nerds, pause that Hadestown playlist and get your butts to see Philly’s hit musical improv group! Thank You, Places: An Improvised Musical is a one-hour, Broadway-style musical that is entirely made up on the spot, created from a single audience suggestion. With a hilarious twist on classic musical theatre storytelling and stylings reminiscent of Rodgers & Hammerstein, Steven Sondheim, and even Lin Manuel Miranda, Thank You, Places will captivate your imagination and make you wet your pants laughing. The TYP team brings with them experience on Broadway, National Tour, New York, Philadelphia, and Regional theatre stages, many years of improv comedy experience, and over 10,000 hours singing in the shower.

EXTREE EXTREE: COMEDY INSPIRED BY THE NEWS
Extree! Extree! Read all about it! Comedy show discusses the news of the week and improvises hilarious scenes inspired by it! Extree host Geoff Jackson will present news articles and clips to the cast who will be seeing them for the first time. The cast will then use the news to inspire the hilariously improvised scenes right on the spot! Get caught up on the latest goings on of this big blue marble and have a laugh with some of Philly’s best improvisers. Features a core of regular performers and guests from other Crossroads shows and the world of improv at large.

BORROWED TIME COMEDY SHOWCASE
Borrowed Time is a comedy showcase featuring a mix of improv, stand-up, sketch, and whatever else we can fit into the block. Each show features a different comedy acts not produced by Crossroads, so it’s a chance to see some stuff you might not otherwise get to see all in one block for one low price!

NOT YET RATED: AN IMPROVISED HOLIDAY MOVIE
Do you see what I see? That’s a movie being made right before your eyes! In this fully improvised show, audience members will pick a movie genre and supply suggestions to inspire the cast which will create a holiday movie right on the spot. Will they be saving hostages? Saving a small town? Saving a small business? Saving themselves from a natural disaster? Who knows! The only thing we know is it’s taking place during the holidays. Whether you watch Die Hard, Gremlins, holiday horrors, or cheesy Hallmark movies to get you into the holiday spirit – we got you covered! The title, the characters, the plot, the soundtrack – all created just for you. Never seen before and never to be seen again!

BIG BABY REUNION SHOW
Members of Big Baby return from all corners of the country to perform for their first time in years in this special, one night only reunion performance. In the past two years Big Baby hasn’t stopped making each other laugh on a never ending text thread. They are looking forward to the opportunity to share that joy with a live audience once again! Includes an opening act TBA.
Big Baby is a long-form improv team that started attacking the stage together in 2013. They have performed across the country in multiple festivals over the years and continue to perform together whenever all the crew returns to the Philadelphia area. The members of this team love playing with each other so much they perform The Bunker. No entrances, No exits, just 8 improvisers stuck in a single space with one another for 30 minutes. Their only goal is to deliver laughs to the audience while trying to keep a straight face themselves. Big Baby is: Andrea Susnick, Bob Moore, Frank Farrell, Hunter Steffes, Katrina Halkidis, Max Sittenfield, Meredith Weir, and Sam Scuvuzzo.

It’s a festivus miracle! One of Philly’s best and longest running improv teams reunites for one night only!
Doing whatever it takes to make audiences laugh since 2013, The Future improv team has built a reputation domestically and abroad as a group of weirdos who create comedy that is always more than the sum of their parts. Give them a suggestion and watch as it gets turned into a recreation of the past, a twisted sci-fi dystopia, or possibly a feat of physical strength. Fred Brown, Caitlin Corkery, David Donnella, Rob O’Neill, Kristen Schier, and Molly Scullion assemble from the four corners of the United States here in Philadelphia for this special night.

Learn the basics of improv in this free and fun class! You’ll learn the core concepts of improv from one of Philly’s best improv instructors, meet new people, and have some fun while doing it!
