Something is about to happen that has not happened for an age. Susan Messing is coming back to Philly! Anyone involved in improv should know that name. Susan Messing is a improv legend and loved in every corner of improv this blue marble has. Crossroads is partnering with the brand, spanking new SideQuest Theater to make this visit happen. Susan will pull up to Philly with the fantastic John Lehr for a weekend of workshops and a one night only performance of Messing With Lehr!

Susan has not been to Philly in almost a decade! That follows several visits between 2009 and 2015 with Rachael Mason (The Boys) and others, each of which had sold out workshops and shows. For this trip, Susan is paired with the awesome John Lehr, who brings carries covering stage, tv, and film including 10 Items or Less, Friends, and three Noah Baumbach films, “Kicking and Screaming,” “Mr. Jealousy,” and “Highball.” Philly will be a stop on their ongoing.  These two have literally been traveling the globe and teaching and performing at a bunch of comedy theaters and festivals to rave reviews. Philly is on deck and in for a great time. As they put it, “Susan and John are a delightful couple. Their improvised comedy is dangerously tasty. Good luck to everyone!”

There will be two opportunities to study with Susan, Thursday night and Saturday afternoon, with each workshop having a different focus. John Lehr will lead one workshop on Saturday morning. We are trying something new for this run – active spots and auditors. We are limiting the number of active participants for these workshops to 14. If any workshops sells out we might explore the possibility of adding spots for people to audit the workshops. We want as many people as possible to be able to learn from these masters of improv, but don’t want to stuff the workshops too tightly. At checkout you will be able to choose which you are enrolling to be. If you want to register for one or more workshops and would like to break up the enrollment into four equal, no-interest payments, email classes@xroadscomedy.com to request to enroll using AfterPay.

The one night only performance will take place on the renovated MainStage of the Adrienne Theater now occupied by SideQuest Theater. We are very grateful to SideQuest for partnering with us to make this trip happen. Their live performances start up soon, so check out SideQuestTheater.com for more information and support their brand new, physical location!

Do not miss this chance to both study with two great performers / instructors and watch them do their thing on stage. Show and workshop information below.
