The amazing comedy duo of Kornfeld and Andrews (NYC) will be visiting Philadelphia for the first time in several years. The duo will be performing a one night only show on Saturday, April 26th and each will teach an improv workshop earlier the same day.
Kornfeld & Andrews has been performing regularly at the Magnet Theater in NYC for years, have performed in comedy festivals across the country, and was featured in the New York Times in March of 2020. You can read that great write-up of the duo here.
Don’t miss your opportunity to see them live on stage here in Philly or, if you are performer, to learn from them in one or both of their improv workshops.
Seasoned performers, longtime instructors, and all-around swell guys Rick Andrews and Louis Kornfeld combine their improv powers for a longform show that’s as honest as it is hilarious. With a patient, nuanced style, they create a textured world filled with characters that will make you laugh and move you all at the same time. It’s comedy. It’s theater. It’s a performance you won’t soon forget.
SATURDAY, APRIL 26TH @ 8:30PM
Plays & Players Theatre, 1714 Delancey Place
Philadelphia, PA 19103
There’s always something happening in the quiet parts of a scene. And that ‘something,’ whatever it is, is usually exactly what the scene is actually about. But improvisers aren’t always comfortable being quiet onstage. We tend to freak out in negative space and want to fill it in with all kinds of unnecessary made up stuff. This workshop is about cultivating a sense for quiet, befriending subtext, and finding the pleasure and surprise in leaving things (mostly) unsaid. PREREQUISITE: Improv 2 at Crossroads (at least enrolled in Improv 2 now). Outside experience will be considered. Please email classes@xroadscomedy.com detailing your experience and request an exception prior to enrolling.
DAY/TIME: Saturday, 4/26 @ 2:30PM – 5:30PM
LOCATION: SideQuest Theater, 2030 Sansom Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103
